Coral Reef Waterworld is a water slide and swimming pool complex based in Bracknell, Berkshire. It was refurbished about 18 months ago and in half term we took the boys to check out all the slides after having a taster at an event with Zoggs.
Coral Reef gets very busy at weekends and in school holidays so I would really recommend booking online. Beware this fills up fast too. I went in to book for the Tuesday of half term on the Friday before and was unable to get a time slot that I wanted. You can queue for tickets at the door but from previous experience you can queue for a long time here. We decided to change our plans and booked for 5pm on the Monday instead.
I wanted to focus this post on the flumes as, if you are nervous like me, it is best to have no surprises!
There are 5 flumes in total and all good in their own ways.
1. The Cannon
For me this is the scariest ride and that is purely because you have to lay down and it is dark and fast. However, it is doable and my eldest son loves it. You need to be over 1.2m and 8 years old to ride it. If you have done this slide then all the others are easy.
This is the slowest of the flumes and has big queues as most people will ride it. If your child is under 1.2m they can ride it with you. It is good in that it is a disco slide and you can choose music and play games as you go down.
3. Storm Chaser
This raft ride is better done as a pair as you will go faster. I loved it the first time we went, but it felt slower on our second visit. A good family flume ride.
4. Poseidon’s Adventure
This is another ride where you need to be 1.2m and 8 years old to ride. It is not scary, but you ride your raft into a bowl and it can be tricky getting into the hole to get out! You can get your photo taken here and download it to your e mail. The worst thing about this ride is that the water is freezing!
In my opinion the best flume at Coral Reef. Another raft ride, and this time you go into the dark and feel like you have hit a storm, splashing from side to side. The first bit is the worst and the second half tamer.
Have you visited Coral Reef? Which was your favourite flume?
