When Trespass asked if I would like to review something from their website, I am guessing they were expecting I would be interested in a summer jacket for one of my boys. However, if your kids are like mine, the moment there is a vague ray of sun, they start undressing and don’t seem to wear coats no matter how hard I try. All of them, however, are in need of winter coats. March and April are funny months really. One day it is really hot, the next bitterly cold. I therefore decided that I was best off choosing a nice warm jacket that they could wear for the next month or so and then in the autumn.
Browsing the website there was a good range of boys casual jackets. Even better, is that at the moment you can bag yourself a bargain too as many lines are reduced. I opted for the Tuff Boys casual jacket which is currently at a whopping 48% discount. When it arrived my husband immediately commented on the quality of the coat. It is padded without being overly bulky. It has a zip off hood and can be adjusted at the waist. It is waterproof and windproof as well.
One of the advantages of having three boys is not having to worry about ordering the correct size. As the choices were 5-6 or 7-8 I opted for the larger size. Here I figured that if it came up small, little man could have it and if it was true to size then it would be good for middle man. I would say that it is true to size and whilst slightly large on middle man now, give him a few months and it will fit perfectly.
In order to test the coat out, we decided to go to our local park know as the FBC. If you are in or visiting the Wokingham area, the FBC park is a great park for all ages. There is the main playground for smaller children and opened recently is a sports area for older children. Here there are basketball hoops, table tennis tables and football goals. There are car parks coming from Gorse Ride North and South which are free. There is also a cafe open until 4pm weekdays and on serving cooked breakfasts on a Saturday.
So middle man decided to put his new coat to the test. As it was spitting he was able to put his hood up, however, now the weather has brightened up we may unzip the hood for a while. Climbing was easy as, like I mentioned earlier, the coat isn’t overly bulky. Middle man was pleased that it kept him dry and warm on a drizzly day.
I am really impressed with the Tuff jacket as the quality is excellent. I would say that the original price tag was fair, but with the reductions on offer at the moment, I would certainly suggest having a look at the Trespass website and stocking up for later in the year.
