A few weeks back, I took middle man for his swimming lesson and he mentioned how he fancied snow tubing. Middle man is a very cautious child who fears the unknown so as soon as he said he would like to do, I was on it! For my Birthday present, I asked my husband if we could go snow tubing as a family. Our nearest ski slope is in Bracknell.
Snow tubing requires prebooking and there are 10 in a group at one time. We chanced it and rang up one Sunday morning when our plans had been changed and managed to get to go on a 4 o’clock slot.
The hardest thing about snow tubing is getting up the slope. We went on a very hot day and after 45minutes we really were tiring. I have since found out from a friend that in Aldershot there is a place that has a conveyor belt – might be worth the extra drive!
Basically you can choose to go forward, backwards and whether you want spinning. As you slide down the hill you do get squirted with water as there are little jets spraying which I guess help the slipperiness. In the heat, this was lovely.
You are also able to go down in groups which makes it even more fun.
Word of warning, they do have lockers, but they are a pound a go. Fine if you want to keep your valuables safe, but not so good if you leave your drink bottle in there!
If you haven’t tried snow tubing yet, it is a great family activity that the kids will love and well worth a try.
